Playing at Learning, a SF Bay area nonprofit, is dedicated to inspiring and energizing students in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Our goal is to excite and motivate our youth into pursuing careers in the STEM workforce. Playing At Learning was founded in 2004 with the mission of sparking that interest and partnered with an established nonprofit, FIRST, to fulfill our mission. We are seeking adult volunteers to help at youth SF Bay area LEGO robotics tournaments - you do not need be involved in robotics or technology to be involved. Each year, the competition “season” for each program is highlighted by area events which bring students, their robots and working professionals together to celebrate the teams' accomplishments. Locally, between November and January, this happens at multiple sites throughout Northern California, culminating in the Northern California Championship tournament.
