Playing At Learning is a non-profit corporation founded in May 2004. We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt public charity.
We are dedicated to turning around America’s growing critical lack of qualified workers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), by inspiring and energizing students. Our goal is to excite and motivate our youth into pursuing careers in the STEM workforce.
We have partnered with the established nonprofit, FIRST (www.usfirst.org), to deliver on our mission with sustainable programs targeted at K-12 youth. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) engages the imaginations of students through robotics, through robust programs involving math, engineering, problem solving, teamwork and “gracious professionalism” in the spirit of cooperative competition.
We are dedicated to providing technology-based, educational enrichment opportunities for young people with a focus on under-served and under-represented communities.
We are the Northern California partner with FIRST for the FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Tech Challenge programs.
Playing@Learning coordinates these program events;
- Northern California FIRST LEGO League Program
- Northern California FIRST Tech Challenge Program
- Junior First LEGO League Expos
- Program outreach at local faires including Maker Faire
- Rube Goldberg Challenge
Playing@Learning is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. A copy of our determination letter is available for review. Our tax-payer ID number is 20 124 1878.
