Guinness World Record Attempt Specific Rules

Largest Rube Goldberg

Rules

  1. The machine must complete an everyday task in the most complicated way possible, in the tradition of Rube Goldberg designs. This task must be clearly defined prior to the attempt.
  2. All steps must be labelled clearly and listed according to when and where they occur.
  3. The function of each step must also be clearly defined.
  4. The machine must complete a full cycle. A full cycle includes a first run to the completion of the task, a complete reset, and a second run to completion of the task.
  5. There must be no human intervention once the machine is in progress. Any invervention will result in the attempt being invalidated.
  6. A machine may not incorporate a live animal.
  7. A machine may not display any corporate sponsor logos.
  8. A machine may not imply proface, indecent, or lewd expressions.
  9. Any loose or flying objects must remain within the set boundaries of the machine.
  10. No combustible fluids, explosives, open flames, or hazardous materials are allowed.
